Still Life: After a Walk

I went for a sunset walk around my apartment building, looking at the different trees and wild flowers. Finding some winged seed pods, a flower and a miniature apple (I've never seen one so small before!) I took them home and decided to do a still life. The little apple was really interesting both to paint and to find. First of all it was just sitting under its tree like it hadn't fallen but just climbed down on its own, and now was resting leisurely against the trunk of the tree. Painting it was also really enjoyable, mostly because I felt really relaxed and played with a bunch of colors and worked at layering them.

Delicates

An old tea cup and two dried flowers. Strikingly delicate and while common place also beautiful. Speaking of tea cups, I've been drinking lots of tea and staring at the mountains. Its unbelievable how many colors they turn throughout the day.

Whimsical Mountains

Inspired by driving through northern Pennsylvania and New York. I love how misty the mountains are!

Greeting Cards

These are some greeting cards that I recently had printed. It was the first time that I really had any of my paintings made into cards and prints. I was pleasantly surprised with how close they are to the originals. This also gives me a way of holding on to paintings that are sold (at least in some way) which is nice.

Large Cabbage

Hello again, its been a while. My internet was fried by some lightening and unfortunately will not be fixed for a week or so. I'm writing this from the comfort of my friends' house, with their lovely lovely internet.
The piece above is another in my cabbage series, I'm quite pleased with it, so much so that I might have a little trouble parting with it.
