We celebrated Flora's first birthday this past Saturday. It was a wonderful day filled with friends and family. I had planned out her cake since I found out I was pregnant with her! These marzipan animals caught my eye and my imagination. So I make a bunch to decorate her cake. I used Odense marzipan and dyed it with gel food coloring, it was great to work with and delicious.
We had three cakes so each had a different theme.

Bing's Bakery in Newark, DE did the blank cakes for me ( they also did our wedding cake! ). I couldn't be happier with how they all turned out.
